Every command in the game, grouped by what you are trying to do.

Every command the game ships with, grouped the way the in-game help index groups them. Most commands abbreviate: type as much of the word as it takes to be unambiguous.

Movement

Command What it does
board Boards a transport by naming the vehicle - board ferry rather than travel eastport.
disembark Steps off a transport before it arrives, where the crossing allows it. The fare is not returned.
follow ‘follow’ starts you following another character. To stop following anyone else, just follow yourself.

Information

Command What it does
abilities Lists the abilities you can perform - the things you type, like charge or rend.
accept Takes on the quest an NPC has just offered you.
decline Turns down the quest an NPC has just offered you.
help Shows the command index, or everything about one command: what it is called, how to use it, and what it does.
inventory Lists players inventory
look Shows you the current room title, description and what items, mobs, and players are there.
questlog Displays your current quests.
score Displays everything your character currently is: level, attributes, pools, how tired you are, what armor is…
skills Lists the skills you have learned - your weapon classes, defences and competences, the things the game rolls…

Items and objects

Command What it does
bank Leave coin and belongings with a banker, or take them back. Depositing costs a small fee.
close Closes a container or a door. For a door, use the direction it stands in (close north); containers are closed…
consign Ask the merchants to make you an item, during a consignment window.
drink Drinks from something you are carrying - a waterskin, a tankard, a potion.
drop Drops the specified item, or coin, from your inventory to the ground, or into a container or corpse.
eat Eats something you are carrying. Food is a pleasure rather than a need: nobody goes hungry, and a meal gives…
examine You examine an object, showing you a more detailed description if you want it.
get ‘get’ is used to get the specified item or gold from the ground, container, or a corpse.
give Gives the specified item, or coin, to a player or mob in the room.
loot ‘loot’ takes everything off a corpse at once and finishes what is left of it.
open Opens a container or a door. For a door, use the direction it stands in (open north); containers are opened…
unlock Unlocks a door or a container, if you are carrying its key.

Combat

Command What it does
advance Advance walks you toward an enemy standing off from you, one step at a time until you are on top of them.
aimed A low-effort attack with bow, crossbow, thrown. Speed: slow. Accuracy: high. Footing: neutral.
attack Attacks your opponent with the weapon you are wielding.
bash A medium-effort attack with medium blunt, heavy blunt, pole arms. Speed: neutral. Accuracy: neutral.
bite A low-effort attack with unarmed. Speed: fast. Accuracy: high. Footing: neutral.
block Readies a block against the next blow aimed at you: you take it on your shield.
cast Casts a spell you have learned from your class.
chop A medium-effort attack with light edged, medium edged, heavy edged, two handed edged. Speed: slow.
claw A low-effort attack with unarmed. Speed: fast. Accuracy: neutral. Footing: neutral.
consider Consider tells you what your chances are of killing a character. Of course, it’s only a rough estimate.
cut A low-effort attack with light edged, medium edged, heavy edged, two handed edged. Speed: neutral.
dodge Readies a dodge against the next blow aimed at you: you get out of the way rather than meeting it.
draw A very low-effort attack with light edged, medium edged, heavy edged, two handed edged. Speed: fast.
elbow A low-effort attack with unarmed. Speed: fast. Accuracy: high. Footing: neutral.
feint A very low-effort attack with any weapon. Speed: very fast. Accuracy: high. Footing: increase.
focus Chooses which of your opponents your attacks land on.
kick A medium-effort attack with unarmed. Speed: slow. Accuracy: low. Footing: worse.
knee A medium-effort attack with unarmed. Speed: neutral. Accuracy: neutral. Footing: neutral.
lash A medium-effort attack with unarmed. Speed: slow. Accuracy: low. Footing: worse.
lunge A medium-effort attack with light edged, medium edged, heavy edged, two handed edged, pole arms.
parry Readies a parry against the next blow aimed at you: you turn it aside with the weapon in your hands.

Character

group Playing with others is more fun, and to earn experience together you must be in a group.
hold wear puts on something with a place to be worn - armor, clothing, jewellery, a pack.
paths Lists the specialization paths your class offers, the level each asks for, and where you stand with it.
quit Leave the game, it auto saves and removes your character from the game.
recall Transports your character to their recall room, or sets it.
standing See how the people and factions of the world regard you.
title See the titles you have earned and choose which one you wear.
train Train takes the level your skills have already paid for.

Communication

Command What it does
area Speak to everybody in the area you are in - further than a yell carries, and no further than the area’s edge.
gsay Sends a message to your current group
ooc Speak out of character to everybody in the world - questions about how the game works, rather than anything…

World

Command What it does
hide Go still in whatever cover the room offers.
point Give away somebody you watched slip into cover, so the whole room can see them.
repair Work to shore up something an attack is tearing down, such as a bridge under siege.
search Go over the room carefully, looking for a way out that is not obvious and for anyone hiding in it.
skin Takes the hide off the corpse of a skinnable creature.
sneak Move carefully, so that the next room does not hear you arrive - and so that a hiding place comes with you…
time Tells you the hour, the day and the date by the world’s own calendar, and what the moon is doing tonight.
weather Tells you what the sky is doing right now.
