Usage

north (or n for short) to move north
Valid directions: n, e, s, w, u, d, nw, ne, se, sw

To move around, type one of the direction commands: north, east, south, west, up, down, northeast, southeast, southwest and northwest. Each can be shortened: n, e, s, w, u, d, ne, se, sw and nw.

Walking is free: no room costs you stamina, however much you are carrying. What you carry still decides what you can pick up, and it is the fights and the skills that tire you. You cannot walk while sitting, resting or asleep, so stand first.

Water and mountainsides are the exception to easy going: moving into them tests your swimming or climbing, and a failed attempt leaves you where you were, a little slower and a little wiser. Keep trying - every attempt teaches.

In a fight you can only walk out once you have given up the ground: type retreat until nothing you are fighting is within reach, and then go - a direction typed while you are still recovering from the retreat that bought the distance leaves at once. Leaving the room that way breaks off the fight, though the recovery and the fatigue come with you.

• Refused while you are a ghost, sleeping, resting or sitting.
• The name north is reserved: the engine types it, so a world cannot rename it away.
• The name northeast is reserved: the engine types it, so a world cannot rename it away.
• The name east is reserved: the engine types it, so a world cannot rename it away.
• The name southeast is reserved: the engine types it, so a world cannot rename it away.
