A world that keeps its own time
Day gives way to night, weather rolls through, and a caravan of merchants walks the road whether or not anyone is watching. The world does not pause when you log out.
Fights you have to think about
There is no auto-attack. Every blow you land is one you chose, while the creature in front of you swings on its own. Stance, range, positioning, fatigue and the weapon in your hand all move the numbers - and fleeing is a real, respectable answer.
Room to make a living
Mine ore, fell timber, skin what you kill, cook, craft and sell. Seven trades improve by doing, and an economy in copper, silver, gold and platinum gives the work somewhere to go.
