The World
A text world with weight to it
Starfire is a MUD - a multiplayer text game. No graphics, no client to install, and far more room for the world to be strange and specific than a rendered game can afford. Here is what is actually in it.

Classes & Races
Five classes that genuinely play differently, and five races that change what you can take and what you can see in the dark.
Combat
Automatic rounds you steer rather than watch: stance, range, position, ammunition, and the fatigue underneath all of it.
Skills & Spells
Abilities that improve by being used - and by being failed - with Lua behind the ones that need real logic.
Trades & Crafting
Seven trades: mining, woodcutting, skinning, fishing, foraging, cooking and craftsmanship.
Economy
Copper, silver, gold and platinum, shops that hold a purse, and caravans that bring the shop to you.
The Living World
Day and night, weather, real darkness, hunger and thirst, scripted quests and NPCs with a route to walk.
Never played a MUD?
You type what you want to do and the world tells you what happens. look, north, kill rat, get all from corpse. Most commands abbreviate, so n is north and k rat starts a fight. That is the whole interface, and it takes about five minutes to stop noticing it.
