Usage
cast <spell> [target]
Example: cast magic missile goblin
Also typed as c
Casts a spell you have learned from your class. Spells cost mana, take a moment to cast - a blow that lands on you meanwhile may break the casting, and your channeling is what holds it - and are listed by the spells command. Casting rolls against your rank, so a spell can fizzle; casting it often is what improves your chances. Type stop to let a spell go unspoken. A spell you have readied with prep is released at once, and a spell you are still preparing can be cast before it is ready - it lands at whatever share of its strength you had prepared, for the full mana.
The target is optional. Many spells that need a target will pick an appropriate default, especially during combat.
Good to know
- Refused while you are a ghost, sleeping, resting or sitting.
- A blow. Typed while you are still recovering from the last one it is dropped rather than queued, so it never fights the battle for you.
